Fishing is an increasingly popular form of leisure activities in Poland. Historically, only men went to the fish. Nowadays, women just as happy to ride on the fish. Fish can catch both young and older people.

Fishing news
The latest report from the Snowy Mountains Region has been published by the team at the Alpine Angler
We have had some excellent reports this week. The wind was very trying over the last week, but many anglers still persevered and most caught fish. Hopefully with improved conditions the fishing will improve too...
Fly Fishing
Rivers - We have had reports of excellent numbers of Rainbows in the lower Eucumbene which have been biting readily and although some are a little small still provide a ton of fun...
Lake Eucumbene - Fly reports from Eucumbene suggest not a lot of change but the fishing has continued to improve, and while not all the fish are huge there have been some better Browns lurking around...
Lake Tantagara - There have been good numbers of fish on the chew in Tantangara and most of these have been surface feeders. A must look at spot after you fish the rivers in the morning...
Lake Jindabyne - Fishing has been great in Jindabyne with both Polaroiding and blind searching taking some fish...
Trolling and Spinning
Lake Eucumbene - With the rising water launching will become progressively easier. The banks are hard so the only thing to be careful of is that there is enough water under the motor when launching...
Lake Jindabyne - With the rising levels the weed beds are the place to troll. Being in close is the key as is an early start. If you really want to catch a fish being on the water as the light starts to improve is essential...
Bait Fishing
Bait fishing has been absolutely outstanding in Eucumbene with good Browns and Rainbows comiong in from the Old Adaminaby area. Powerbait and Scrubworms have been the best baits. Stimulate has been an excellent addition to Scrubworms and those anglers using it have reported a jump in their catch rates...

Video: The Parachute and Pile Casts
The Orvis Fly Fishing Guide Podcast
25 Nov 2011 | 11:41 am
Welcome to another installment of "Ask an Orvis Fly-Fishing Instructor," with Peter Kutzer. In this episode, Peter explains the differences between the parachute cast and the pile cast, both of which are slack-line casts that can be useful when you're fishing across conflicting currents or to a fish downstream. To make a parachute cast, you stop the rod high and keep the tip up while the fly and front of the line land on the water. This gives you a belly of line between the rod tip and the water. As your fly drifts downstream, you lower the rod tip, feeding line into the drift and maintaining…

Who Really Owns America's Riverbeds? Tomorrow is a big day in Washington, D.C. for anyone who likes fishing, rafting, or canoeing public water in the United States. In what is likely the most meaningful river-access case ever heard before the U.S. Supreme Court, PPL Montana v Montana is seeking to answer the long-disputed question of who really owns the riverbeds on navigable waterways, and whether the definition of "navigable" should be based on the present, or based on the river's navigability when the state joined the Union. The Professor and I just snuck out to Montana for a few heavenly days of vacation which was heavy on fall fishing, food and football. We fished the Big Hole with our friend Eric, co-owner of Sunrise Flyshop in Melrose. I’ve said it before, Eric is seriously one of the hardest working guides on the planet. The air temp was 17 when we woke up that morning and the water temp was hovering somewhere around 33 degrees when we started our day. Fish were sluggish so we had to go BIG to get their attention. As in big, big streamers. We caught a number of browns early but the real fun started when…

The more reserved woman politely made conversation, “The Florabama…is that where you lost your voice?” The Shaky Vestry Member replied, “No it’s where…

On Saturday, the Professor and I took advantage of a gorgeous morning in South Alabama and headed over to the boat launch to try and catch redfish on the fly. It was also the launch of our new motor. You see, unfortunately a couple of weeks ago, the motor was stolen off our boat. It’s been the cause of endless ire and frustration, especially since they no longer make these two stroke motors. The Professor has been living on Ebay and Craigslist trying to find a replacement (not to mention looking for someone trying to sell his stolen motor.) So with a bittersweet sense of ceremony we…

Event Date/Time: November 15, 2011 - 7:00pm9:00pm The speaker for the month of November is Chris Johnson, a fly shop owner and guide here in central Texas. I first met Chris this past spring at a Project Healing Waters fishing outing. Chris and a few other guides volunteered their services that day to take several recovering soldiers on a float down the Guadalupe, and I was there to take pictures of the event. Chris’s drift boat was the biggest and driest of the boats and he was kind enough to let me and my camera ride with him. Within eyeshot of our launching point Chris anchored up…

12 Nov 2011 | 1:59 pm
By David McWilliams In my humble opinion if you live in Texas there is no better month than November. It is a great month with plenty of opportunities. Fishing can be fantastic. Just a week ago the club took an outing to Fence Lake in Rockport, Texas. This is a trip where everyone loads their kayak onto the skimmer boat to be ferried across Aransas Bay to San Jose Island and its notorious back lakes. Although only a few club members could attend those who did were greeted by calm winds, good water levels, and lots of redfish with their tails and backs out of the water. While I have your…

Falconer Rebecca O’Connor writes a nice essay about hunting with her dog and falcon over Thanksgiving — and the places she’s drawn to: These places I’ve made my own — paying in tears, sweat and blood. Hunting with a raptor is frightening, punctuated by a small peregrine’s near death experiences, illuminated by surprise successes and heartbreaking in its losses. In short it is life. And these places belong to me because I have lived on them. Read the (relatively short) essay here.
Supreme Court To Decide Issues of Commercial Navigability, Public Access For Missouri River (And The Rest Of Us)
Tom Chandler
5 Dec 2011 | 7:04 pm
The Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) will hear a case on Wednesday that could have huge implications for river and stream access across the United States. The question is whether the Montana State Supreme Court ruled correctly when they said the Missouri River’s “Great Falls” were owned by the state instead of PPL Montana — an electrical utility with hydropower installations at Great Falls. While the case revolves around a few obscure points — one of them being whether the Missouri was commercially navigable during the time of the Lewis and Clark…

Maybe this bothered Harry, who was bothered easily enough by another usurping his glory. Maybe not, though; maybe Harry didn't like the fly fishing ideas the man was promoting. The basic angling philosophy of the man no doubt was repugnant to him. He picked someone, me, with a totally…

Fish Tanks and Accessories: What to Know Contrary to popular belief, you can’t just pick up a goldfish, toss the little guy into a small bowl of water, and just let him be. He won’t just ‘do fine’ and he certainly won’t survive. Pet fish need to be fed, cleaned up after, and cared for in general, just like any other animals under human supervision. Domesticated fish have a plethora of needs, and while most of these needs are basic and shouldn’t take too much work to meet, they can’t simply be overlooked. With the right armament of fish tank accessories, any homeowner and/or fish…
How To Catch Trout - Why Light Line Is So Important To Trout Fishing
14 Feb 2011 | 6:03 am
Whether you are just learning how to catch trout or are a trout fishing veteran there is one aspect of trout fishing that I have learned over the past two decades of fishing for trout has a bigger impact on catching trout than any other. That aspect is the weight of your fishing line, and in this article I will do my best to explain why this is the case. Light line is extremely important to being a successful trout fisherman and in my experience is the biggest reason why many people simply don't know how to catch trout.

The season continues through Sunday, November 27. “Record rainfall and regional flooding during the nesting season negatively affected wild turkey production this year,” said Wildlife Biologist Mike Reynolds. “Some renesting may have helped to offset early nest failures, but hunters will likely find fewer turkeys this fall. Fort Lauderdale Sailfish Bite Heats Up

4 Dec 2011 | 3:24 pm
Sailfish on splashdown in Fort Lauderdale Sailfishing in Fort Lauderdale is heating up this week with the 20+ mph east winds we’re getting this week. The Out of the Blue is crushing the sailfish on their sportfishing charters, kite fishing in 100-150′ of water. Yesterday’s morning charter landed 2 sailfish and the afternoon trip caught 4 and missed 2 others! Afternoons are catching more sailfish on average than the morning trips are. Rough seas make it a little tougher to fish, but it is on the roughest days when the fishing is the best. Dolphin are also…

30 dolphin caught on the Mary B III's all day fishing trip The Mary B III had an awesome all day trip yesterday with a catch of 30 dolphin. Eight anglers went out on our open party all day fishing trip that we go out on every day. We started off trolling the reef in about 100′ of water. We spent the first hour catching a few small kingfish and a decent size blackfin tuna. The Out of the Blue, our sister ship gave us a call that there was a nice color change and weedline out in 450′ of water, so we trolled out there to check it out. The color change looked awesome,…

The all day fishing trip and the sportfishing trips are getting good action trolling. It’s a great way to cover a lot of ground and find some schools of fish. Trolling, we’re catching dolphin, small blackfin tunas, a few wahoo and some sailfish. …

The fishing in Fort Lauderdale is getting hot this month. Sailfish are slamming on the reef. On our sportfishing trips, we’ve caught at least one sailfish on every single trip this week and a few trips where we’ve caught doubles and triples. Sailfish are biting awesome. The stong winds we’re getting these days is great for kite fishing. We’re also catching a couple sails while trolling and on the drift fishing trips. Sportfishing boats aren’t the only ones who catch sailfish. The Catch My Drift and Mary B III are also catching their fair share of…

Is there a boat launch? No, due to the fact that only non-motorized boats are allowed on the lake. You can however launch from most places on the shore. Is camping allowed? Yes, there are numerous campsites around the lake, and…

Conquer the Cold: The theory of bigger being sometimes better

by Guest: George DanielThere are no absolutes in fly fishing and thatâs why I refer to this approach as a theory. While this âtheoryâ produces good results, there will be times you will have to adjust your way of thinking as there are no absolutes in fly fishing. What Iâm referring to is trying to get inside the mind of a wintertime feeding trout. Think about it, wintertime is a period when these cold blooded critterâs feeding habits slow down as water temperatures drop. In many river systems, trout begin to drop back into the slower moving bodies of water in an…

We went fly fishing over the weekend to our local Mere Beck, didn’t catch anything but we had a few follows and nips on the cat whisker lures Wendy made the previous week – yes – we’re finally making our own… I did get to try out some new boots that the nice people at Fishtec sent me to test though and I must say first impressions are very good. The TF Gear Thermo-Tex Boots are constructed of very light weight (although thick) rubber which seems more flexible than normal welly material, this makes them very comfortable and easy to wear for a long period of time.

It doesn’t look it in the photo above but trust me, it was horrid. Saturday, according to the weather forcast didn’t look so bad so we arrived about 2 hours before high water and made our way to the small ‘bay’ formed by the bend…
