Fishing is an increasingly popular form of leisure activities in Poland. Historically, only men went to the fish. Nowadays, women just as happy to ride on the fish. Fish can catch both young and older people.

Fishing news
The latest report from the Snowy Mountains Region has been published by the team at the Alpine Angler
We have had some excellent reports this week. The wind was very trying over the last week, but many anglers still persevered and most caught fish. Hopefully with improved conditions the fishing will improve too...
Fly Fishing
Rivers - We have had reports of excellent numbers of Rainbows in the lower Eucumbene which have been biting readily and although some are a little small still provide a ton of fun...
Lake Eucumbene - Fly reports from Eucumbene suggest not a lot of change but the fishing has continued to improve, and while not all the fish are huge there have been some better Browns lurking around...
Lake Tantagara - There have been good numbers of fish on the chew in Tantangara and most of these have been surface feeders. A must look at spot after you fish the rivers in the morning...
Lake Jindabyne - Fishing has been great in Jindabyne with both Polaroiding and blind searching taking some fish...
Trolling and Spinning
Lake Eucumbene - With the rising water launching will become progressively easier. The banks are hard so the only thing to be careful of is that there is enough water under the motor when launching...
Lake Jindabyne - With the rising levels the weed beds are the place to troll. Being in close is the key as is an early start. If you really want to catch a fish being on the water as the light starts to improve is essential...
Bait Fishing
Bait fishing has been absolutely outstanding in Eucumbene with good Browns and Rainbows comiong in from the Old Adaminaby area. Powerbait and Scrubworms have been the best baits. Stimulate has been an excellent addition to Scrubworms and those anglers using it have reported a jump in their catch rates...

More than THREE AND A QUARTER MILLION angler visits... Rated best UK coarse fishing website by 'The Sunday Times' ... "A very well-presented guide to coarse fishing in the UK" - Daily Telegraph...
New... a carp venue over the border in Wales
We had hoped to feature Spring Rock Fishery near Llandrindod Wells in Wales, last year but a sudden problem with weed growth meant the number of fishable swims was dramatically reduced. Since then the problem is being eradicated and the water is now virtually clear. Stocked with more than 350 mirror, common, ghost and koi carp to 25lb as well as a good head of crucians, the lake is about two and a half acres in size and is set in a dramatic and remote location with its own log pod for those travelling any distance.
Recent additions... a fast expanding Cheshire jewel...
The culmination of six years work, Chester Lakes offers four main pleasure lakes with bags of silver fish and carp to 12lbs. Despite being only three miles from the city of Chester, the fishery is set in rural surroundings and is available for match and pleasure angling with its own campsite. The cafe is open all day every day and work is currently in hand to develop a four acre specimen pool which will have only 14 pegs and be stocked with double figure fish and a new match pool.
Plus... day tickets or angling breaks near Crewe...
To be found between Chester and Crewe in Cheshire, New Farm Fishery has three well maintained lakes which offer day ticket pleasure fishing for carp and silver fish; a large camping/caravan park with hard standing 'super-pitches'; a heated toilet/shower block which is also available for use by anglers; and a modern clean and spacious Bed and Breakfast annexe with five well-equipped bedrooms and light and airy dining room.
...big carp and cats in the old quarry...
Recently taken over by new owners who have made massive improvements to this former quarry water, Pitsford Fisheries in Northamptonshire is renowned locally for its carp to over 30lbs and big catfish which are said to run to a massive 70lbs. Two acres in size, Pitsford has been a fishery for more than 20 years and the new owners have cleared a mass of weeds, built a new car park and access track around the water, provided new washing, toilet and cooking facilities for anglers and are now about to plant 2,500 trees.
...A four lake venue down in the woods...
Offering angling on four pools in the heart of Kent for those who book a mid-week or weekend break, Springwood Fishery near Wadhurst has a mix of fish including catfish to 60lbs and big common, mirror and grass carp as well as some handsome tench and silver fish. Top Pool (left) is great for pleasure anglers whilst the larger waters are set in a delightful and informal woodland setting where anglers can get away from it all.
...a three lake venue in Cornwall...
Snowland Fisheries in Cornwall started out as a recreational wildlife sanctuary with two shallow pools. Now, 40 years on, it offers accommodation around three lakes, has a coffee shop, facilities for camping and touring caravans with electric hook ups and even a riding school. The development has been done in close association with the British Disabled Anglers Association, making it an ideal venue for both able bodied and disabled anglers.
Angel's Spring League kicks off again in March
Angel of the North's regular Spring League of matches kicks off again in mid-March 2012 and runs for 12 weeks until the rivers re-open again on June 16. All the matches will again be fished on Lookout Lake.

News bites...
Holt Hall Fishery near Coleshill closed its doors to anglers on 31 October after the Environment Agency said its owners had to remove sturgeon from the lakes if day-ticket angling was to continue. Follow the link for further details.
Furnace Mill is offering a day's mid-week winter fishing for just £5.00 between 1 November, 2011 and 29 February, 2012 when the venue will be open from 9.00am until 4.00pm. Normal opening times and prices will apply at weekends.

With over 100 featured fisheries and more in the pipeline it is no longer becoming practical simply to list them all in alphabetical order.
As a result, we have introduced this searchable map which will take you to a sub-index of fisheries in each specific region of the UK.
To find a list of fisheries listed just move your cursor over the relevant area of the UK and click to follow the link. At the bottom of each sub-index you will find a link which will bring you back to our homepage.
Below are links to over 100 day-ticket, pleasure, match and holiday coarse and game angling venues which offer fishing on over 450 different lakes, pools and stretches of river. Because anglers like to see as well as read about waters they may want to fish, the site is photo-intensive. We have tried to keep picture file sizes reasonably small without detracting from their quality.
